Pistachio - In Progress

From Lesley’s Webmaster:
This is not one of Lesley’s “in progress” paintings, but it is from one of her dedicated students - Marianne Harris. Marianne is also a frequent visitor to this Blog.
This is Pistachio and he’s my Gypsy Cob. Marianne is using one of my husband’s photos as a reference image. My husband and I both believe that she has really captured Pistachio’s personality! (Note: This is one of two images that Marianne sent me. I can post the other one, as well, if you’d like!)
Marianne wants to emphasize that the painting is still in progress. She will be adding some light images of trees in a yellow sunset. Marianne welcomes your feedback, comments, and suggestions!

As the proud owner of this amazing little guy I have to tell you that I am quite impressed with the way you have captured his essence. It is one thing to see him through the lens of my camera but you make him come to life on paper! You’ve done a beautiful job and I can’t wait to see the finished version.

I already love the colors you used.
Steve, it must be a beautiful shot from an animal in motion (there are not too many good ones

Thanks for the wonderful comments. And Steve… he’s an impressive little horse. One of the things I have been enjoying about this painting is that I get to study every detail of him in the photo you captured him in. It’s wonderful… and I’ll be sending in the finished version for sure.

Marianne!
So great to see that you are feeding your addiction! Knew you were hooked and I am thrilled to see take on a horse. I have never painted horses. Keep posting updates please!

Thank you for the comments about Jaz, and if this is a working progress I can’t wait until it’s finished!
Take care, Ian
