IT’S A YELLOW LAB!!!
Well, I’m packed and the car is loaded
and as soon as I write you’all one last post, Eleanor (car), Lalla (teddy bear that lives in Eleanor), and I are hitting the looooooong road to South Dakota. I think this is when I miss John the MOSTEST! It’s awful going on trips without him. I usually cry for the first hour or so then cut off the pity party because it worries Lalla when I cry while driving.
BEARS!!!!!!
And here is the next step on the cute puppy. And yes, you were all right that guessed a yellow lab. Guess it’s a bit obvious now.
And, I want to apologize for the lack of guest artist’s lately. Soooooooooo boring just looking at MY artwork (at least I sure think so!!). I’m not sure where LeAnn put you guest artists but I can’t find you anywhere! So would you mind resubmitting artwork and a few sentences or paragraphs about you, your artwork in general and the piece you’ve sent? Please send to hkprints@aol.com.
Thank you!!

Another exciting piece! Can’t wait to see how you finish this one!
Have fun in SD! I hope you have a great experience there and meet loads of awesome people. If you are EVER in MN, please let me know because it would be great to meet you someday.

Hi Lesley,
I wonder what colour is your underpainting? That wasn’t done with the 9B was it? or 359 NuPastel? I have a really hard time finding the correct golds for a yellow lab or golden retreiver and perhaps my underpainting colour isn’t working???
Next, you have some of the coolest adventures with your photography too!! Can’t wait to see some pictures. Hope Lalla enjoys the trip. (you are too funny!and I admire your spirit Lesley)

Oh my gosh, Lesley…Now I know I like you! I am a bear person too!! And, my hubby loves the fact that your vehicle is named Eleanor. (I don’t suppose it’s a Shelby??? Just asking for him.)
Love the yellow lab…so cute! Enjoy your trip and have tons of fun!

Shalese,
I used to fly out to Minneapolis every two months when I was with Hadley House. They flew me out to sign limited edtion prints and if I could sign them REALLY fast I got to play afterwards.
so I became real familiar with the Mall of America, favorite bookstores and restaurants. Wonderful area. REALLY loved the people.

Kim,
Yes,the undercolors are crucial and do you mean the very bottom-ist under color? (I learned that word in English 1A:-)
Got home Monday morning and went straight to work. Lalla was actually a bit more restrained than usual, I think having me in the car, driving 12 – 17 hours a day with him, freaked him out a bit. He’s so not used to that………..and NEITHER AM I!!!!!
Remind me next time to check the mileage before I take off on one of these adventures!!!
Shot 9000 photos the first day. Will tell and show you, all about it but right now getting ready for a workshop at my studio this weekend. EEEEK!!!!

Mary,
Tell your husband that Eleanor is a CRV Honda and she is WONDERFUL!! I have a new admiration for her after this trip. Not sure the feeling is mutual though!!
Gisselle is a very RED Mini Cooper and she has a RABBIT (not a bear)because RABBITS love to go VERY FAST!!!!
….. and Izzy is THE cutest white Nisson Nismo (racing engine) truck and she has a BEAR too. Puddin’ is his name and he’s much easier to get along with than Lalla.
I like cars, can you tell?

Lesley,
I just have to share…We also love cars here. Back when my daughter bought her Dodge Durango, they named it “Maximus Durangus”. Sooooo,…..When I got my little PT Cruiser (which I love) they all named it “Minimus”. Not so sure it likes that name, but it has been a wonderful vehicle!
Hope your trip has been fun!

Mary,
Thrilled to hear that someone else names all of their cars! I’m sure The Cruiser likes his (?) name. How would you like to have no name?!!!!
I even have the mechanics that work on mine calling them by name! Insanity is contagious!!
